The Valley of a Thousand Hills can be described as one of the hidden gems of South Africa.
Well, maybe not all that hidden, because it is quite popular amongst tourist with lots of activities.
Hiking, cycling, rowing, and rock-climbing are just some of the activities you will find there. You can also visit the local crocodile farm or a game reserve. At the game reserve you can even enjoy game drives.
A wide range of accommodation is available and if you feel like having some fun, why not go for a game of paintball?
We love taking a drive out to Monteseel, a small residential area located at one of the highest points in the Valley of a Thousand Hills.
We would typically head out to the outskirts of Monteseel to enjoy some of the most spectalur views over the valley.
I first took a short walk down a gorge to get this shot of the view point I was heading for.
This is looking up to the area that I was heading for to get some shots of the view over the valley.
To my right, some rock climbers were having fun, doing what they love most.
I then passed behind (above) them on my way to where I wanted to be.
Approaching the edge from where I wanted to get some shots of the valley.
Standing on the edge, this is the view, looking out over the valley.
To my left was the area where the rock climbers were active just below me. They are not visible in this photo, but they were active just below the edge visible below me (in the center of the photo). To the far left you can also see the gorge where I walked down earlier to get the first photo (in this post) from lower ground.
And looking to the right in an easterly direction for my last photo in this post.
And that's all for today, folks.
Thank you for reading my post! I do appreciate it!
