This is the time of year where we all start yearning for that break. You are tired and you just want to sit down and take a break. Then, when you sit down, you feel as if you are caged in between the walls, and you need to get out.
Is it just me, or is there anybody else feeling like that too sometimes...lol?
Well, a few weeks ago, we had a day like that. Both my wife and I were exhausted after a hectic week, yet we just wanted to get out of the house and into the open.
Not having planned anything properly, we decided to go for a short drive and ended up in the Valley of a Thousand Hills...Monteseel to be exact.
The Valley of a Thousand Hills, west of Durban, South Africa, is a popular destination for tourists and provides some of the most spectacular scenes to enjoy.
Monteseel is like a countryside suburb in the Valley of a Thousand Hills.
It was a cloudy day and sometimes it got misty...perfect for taking some photos.
As we pulled over to go for a walk, this tree caught my attention.
The next three images will give you an idea of the views we enjoyed from this spot.
The next photo shows a typical scene of the suburb while driving around in Monteseel. Many of the roads are sand roads.
I pulled over on the side of the road to take the next shot of the valley with a deep cliff just below us.
We then drove up to a view point I love to visit to enjoy the view from there.
Looking down into the valley below...
I get the impression there might be a little stream passing through at the bottom...
I thought this prominent rock will make a nice picture against the background of the valley below.
Here are some views of the valley as seen from this point.
A beautiful tree growing right on the edge.
In the last photo, we started our journey back home. We pulled over in Drummond, about halfway between Monteseel and Hillcrest, the closest town.
This is the view over the Valley of a Thousand Hills from Drummond.
And that's it for today, folks.
Thank you for reading my post! I do appreciate it!
