RE: Mølen rocks

this place is a rock lover's paradise. to remain so it is forbidden to take any away but there are similar but much smaller places nearby where it is possible to collect some. the whole coast was under glaciers during several ice ages. it is hard to believe but years ago there was an effort to start a sand and gravel pit here and crush the stones. fortunately it never happened.

Sort:

Glaciers deposited sand in Wisconsin during the last ice age and our fine grained sand is being mined to be used for fracking in the oil fields of North Dakota and Canada. Who knows what the long term environmental impact will be.

folks in the just stop oil crowd are nuts but just stop fracking might not be such a bad idea.

I agree!
