Two days have passed, the entire weekend with heavy rains and storms in the city, I have only had the desire to get home and not go out again. I know what days with these climates can be interesting for street photography but when the storm is very strong, you really think carefully before going out with your camera. What I did was put the camera in my backpack and go to work early with it. Yesterday the storm was stronger in the morning and when I left work I made a short stop.
During my trip back home, I made a station transfer on the subway, I got off there near Plaza de Mayo and walked about two blocks. I took shelter in a corner where the metropolitan cathedral is and took some shots.
The streets were almost desolate and most of the people there were street vendors and a few other people going in and out of the cathedral.
I took some photos of the Cabildo and as best I could I took others but damn! My camera was getting wet and it is not resistant to adverse climates.
I was thinking about whether to share these photos in color or black and white, almost always the second option wins. I think the absence of colors offers more dramatic or nostalgic scenarios... Anyway, I decided to do it that way.
From the entrance of the cathedral, you can see the columns on the sides and the focus on the small obelisk in the Plaza de Mayo.
This is my second favorite photo of this set, or maybe the first, I don't know but those people crowded together with umbrellas, the columns and the water on the floor make for an attractive composition.
These are some of the surroundings of the square. Many people carry umbrellas and others don't seem to mind walking in the rain.
Today the weather has improved, it is not raining but if it is very cold, I should go for a walk or visit one of the places I had thought about during the week, we will see. In the meantime I will continue enjoying my 3rd cup of coffee ☕ and wishing you a good Sunday :)
That's all folks! Thanks for stopping by and appreciating.
