LOW ANGLES AND BUILDINGS - Street Photography, Retiro Business Towers, Buenos Aires.

IMG_20240111_125533139.jpg

It's always a good time to stop and take some pictures you didn't plan to take, you make the decision in fractions of a second and suddenly you're there, trying to create something. In the city of Buenos Aires, specifically in the Retiro neighbourhood is a business area of gigantic modern buildings. I interrupted my trip to go down in this neighbourhood and try some low angles.

These have been perspectives that I used to use when I started in photography and I don't know why I have stopped doing it, I guess to approach new themes or genres, however I remember every now and then how these shots look when you take them at ground level.

I found this area of the city quite attractive because of the big buildings and the affluence of employees that pass through here... These are the results.

This has been one of the photos that I liked the most, from my imagination I got lines on the floor, the tiles are a good support material because it allows me to get texture in addition, two people walking and that flag of Argentina that adorns the image very well.

This is a very busy transfer area and many students walk through here as well, and there are several underground stations with which to make combinations. I was able to capture some of this, people going in and out of the towers and those three buildings in the background.

This area is great to achieve many things, depending on the result you want to get, my opinion is that for close up pictures of giant buildings it is interesting and appropriate to use a wide angle lens, I have used one for the following picture but not exactly for my camera, I have used the one from my phone as it was a split second decision to decide to go down in this station.

Even if I had decided to go with my camera I don't have that lens either, it's too expensive and it's one of my favourites, I hope one day I'll buy it and give it the use it deserves, meanwhile I'll keep using the one from my phone 😅

This is the main entrance to the Catalinas Plaza tower, some palm trees of the business centre are in the frame.

At that time it was 1pm, the light was very harsh and some of the photos were taken against the light, practically blind. I took the decision to play a bit with the tones and edit the blue and green tones and lower the lighting and saturation of these trying to get a kind of Moody style.

The next photo also has its own charm, I think... You can just see those people in shadows and that division between one building and another leaving the sky as a space I found attractive.

Here is a view from the other side of the avenue where you can see two signs pointing to Leandro N. Alem Avenue and Enrique Butty Street.

It seems that at the time of the construction of all these buildings they had in common to make them with a certain style, almost all of them are covered by blue glass and have a certain resemblance in this sense. This photo is from another part of the avenue where you can also see the kick of the metrobus.

These photos are part of the business centre Catalinas Norte located in the Retiro neighbourhood in the autonomous city of Buenos Aires.

Thank you for stopping by and appreciating.

Creo que definitivamente valió la pena, muchas gracias por comentar @ceciliajess 😉

I love low angles 😍 There's a place in the park I go to, which has white pebbles and I used to shoot there, but just as you, I have stopped.

You did an excellent job Dimas! Shooting tall buildings is a fun job and I love the second photo the most, where you picked the tiled floor. It's fantastic! I love how you are exploring new possibilities!

Hugs and kisses to your model, I hope he's fine 😂😘🤗

You know my dear friend, trying to do different things so as not to get bored of the same thing 😅

The photo you chose is also one of my favorites, I would like to see some photos of you in that style, I think I would enjoy them a lot 😍

Thank you very much for your beautiful words and for your time. My model is fine, but he says you've forgotten him a bit 😂 It's a joke

Have a beautiful day, darling ❤️😘🤗

Qué hermosas fotos Dimas! Me gustó mucho que las hayas editado en modo blanco y negro, se ven igual de lindas que las originales!

Buen trabajo, saludos amigo! 🙌🏻

Muchas gracias amiga, me alegra que te hayan gustado y que hayas pasado por acá. Aprecio mucho tu comentario 🥰

No hay de qué! Feliz día 😊🙏🏻

An eloquent photography series with excellent perspective work. The edition is also very good in which I perceive a contrast attenuation that is very pleasing to the eye... A round of applause also for the black and white versions!...
