My entry to Qurator Photo Quest organized by @qurator
The aircraft is the means of transport that I use most in my work if I look at it from the point of view of the number of kilometers I travel throughout the year, and that is why I am fascinated by the world of aeronautics.
In many terminals, and mainly when I travel on short-haul regional flights, boarding the aircraft is still done at the tarmac. Although when the weather is cold or there is light drizzle, I curse the company that still opts for this form of boarding.
Boarding from the terminal is for me the best way to board. Comfortable for the passenger and usually fast. And mainly independent of weather conditions.
The evolution of the airplane throughout history has had a lot to do with war conflicts, as I observed during my visit to the miniature museum located in the citadel of Jaca.
In this place, as I went through the different exhibitors, I saw that the one who had the best means of transport achieved superiority over his enemies. For example, Hannibal with the Carthaginians using elephants had a very important tactical advantage.
In the mid-century wars, it was not all about digging trenches.
Air superiority marked a turning point in conflicts.
And with the development of fighters that reach very high speeds and the ability to hide their trail from radar, wars are increasingly being won from the air. Although I am of the opinion that in a war, no one wins and we are all losers.
And fortunately, airplanes, although still with a military purpose within the military emergency units, save lives, as happens in Spain in firefighting.
So I can conclude this post with a long life to the airplane, my favorite means of transportation.
Greetings.
