I have a habit of using old clothes as rags, too! Or old towels (though those are weirder to give out, tbh). I'm glad your jeans found a new home, and indeed, there's so much we no longer wear/value that might be appreciated by someone else out there. It's worth having an honest assessment of the item, seeing if it's indeed rag-worthy or could still be used by someone.
