Hi friends,
After a week traveling from one side to another of the north of Spain for work reasons and with a lot of work accumulated from the vacation days I had at Christmas, my body and my mind, yesterday asked me to slow down a little and seek for my health a little relaxation.
For a long time, every time I pass near the city of Aviles on the highway, I see from the top of a viaduct a large water reservoir with all green in its surroundings. It is the Trasona reservoir.
Today, in order to find a new place to take a walk, I went there and was delighted to walk along a path around the reservoir.
In the vicinity of the reservoir I was delighted to see this "Horreo". It is a typical structure of the region that used to be built next to the houses as overhead barns to prevent rodents from reaching the stored crops and also as a measure to keep the grains away from the ground to prevent the soil moisture from spoiling them.
Walk also over the dam, as it is completely pedestrianized, allowing to contemplate the immensity of the reservoir in this rainy season in the region of Asturias.
In the middle of the road above the dam I was impressed by the amount of water coming out of it and allowed me to take this picture with silky effect of water using the long exposure mode of my iPhone 13.
At the end of the road to the dam I found a pier, which I tried to leave framed in this kind of window of a small place full of graffiti that allowed me to continue giving free rein to the pleasure that gives me to take striking photos or different from the standards that a tourist can do.
The walk, I took it near lunchtime, so when I saw a restaurant nearby I decided to go in for lunch.
The chosen place was a success as it has a fairly inexpensive menu of the day with many dishes to choose from.
As a first choice, although it is a very caloric meal, I ordered a Fabada Asturiana with chorizo and black pudding. It felt good, since the barely 5 degrees Celsius, despite having been walking, caused me to have a cold body.
To compensate for the large caloric intake, the second course was a plate of fried hake with salad and an ali-oli sauce. Delicious dish.
Finally, I gave up dessert, but a good coffee is always welcome to wake up and avoid the sleepiness that could be caused by having such a full stomach.
After eating, I returned back to where I had parked my car, walking back over the dam and photographing for the last time a very quiet place that certainly gave me peace and relaxation to start the weekend.
Best regards.
