RE: Three-Tune Tuesday: A Miscellaneous Mixture

The Beatles could make perfect little pop songs.

Yes, I always knew the repertoire of singles but not the album tracks. A few years ago, @dismayedworld was throwing Norwegian Wood at me, unsuccessfully. She's a right fan of them.

Deadwing is a great album. That may have been the first from PT I listened to just before I saw them live.

The last four, including the Incident are all great. The other three are better but that doesn't mean the final one is bad, it's better than most of the other crap that's about.

I've heard a few people do Norweigan Wood at various sessions. It's a typical McCartney story song.

I had an feeling this was a John song, and it is..

Yeah, but some lyrics from Paul. I've seen some story that John wan't keen on Maxwell's Silver Hammer and called it "more of Paul's granny music". I think there's some music hall influence there, but then bands like Genesis took it up. In the late 60s various bands were inventing what popular music could be.

Yes, that an Ob-Li-Di.., quite funny the reference. Neither songs do a lot for me,

The Kinks did it too with Lola. Not so different from Benny Hill's Ernie really.
