Musical Monday: Baron Rojo. Una banda épica

Inicio con la canción que da nombre a la banda, y esta es la épica BARON ROJO. La razón de que esta canción sea homónima a la banda, es porque precisamente sus integrantes admiraban mucho, y quisieron rendirle homenaje a un personaje histórico: Manfred von Richthofen, un piloto de caza alemán, quien peleó en la Primera Guerra Mundial, y cuyo seudónimo fue precisamente BARON ROJO. No quiero romantizar la guerra, pues ninguna guerra es buena, siempre hay muerte, miseria, dolor, violencia y degradación detrás de ella; pero hay que reconocer, que si es cierto lo que dicen los registros históricos, este piloto debe haber sido alguien fuera de serie, porque incluso, cuando fue derribado por fuego enemigo, fue enterrado con honores militares… por sus propios enemigos. Ahora bien, con respecto a la canción, esta también es excepcional, aun cuando fue lanzada en 1981, en el primer vinilo de la banda “Larga Vida al Rock and Roll”. Comienza con un riff de guitarra increíble, además de que la letra, la voz, la batería… todo, es estupendo, creo que es la canción más famosa de este grupo. I start with the song that gives the band its name, and this is the epic BARON ROJO. The reason that this song is the same name as the band is because precisely its members greatly admired, and wanted to pay tribute to, a historical figure: Manfred von Richthofen, a German fighter pilot, who fought in the First World War, and whose pseudonym was precisely BARON ROJO. I do not want to romanticize war, because no war is good, there is always death, misery, pain, violence and degradation behind it; but we must recognize that if what historical records say is true, this pilot must have been someone out of the ordinary, because even when he was shot down by enemy fire, he was buried with military honors... by his own enemies. Now, regarding the song, this one is also exceptional, even though it was released in 1981, on the band's first vinyl “Long Live Rock and Roll”. It starts with an incredible guitar riff, plus the lyrics, the voice, the drums... everything is great, I think it is the most famous song of this group.
