Hello Hive Music Gang!
Welcome to another #threetunetuesday created originally by @ablaze.
This week I have been listening to some easy going tunes by the lovely Dido. As I have been under the weather, she has been perking me up with her melochantic voice and relaxing lyrics.
I first heard of Dido from the famous Stan song that she sang with Eminem, which was probably helpful for her to get recognition and it sampled her most well known song. However, she is a great artist in and of herself and sounds better without the rapping in the background.
Today I will share a few tunes that I have been listening to this week. My first pick is Hunter which is probably not one of her most well known songs, but it is a great tune and pretty different to her other stuff too.
Although most of her singles were released in the noughties, she has that 90s sound that is quite recognisable imo. This could also be because her first album was released in 1999, so could be classed as a 90s act.
Dido - Hunter
This next tune I have been playing quite abit this week as it has been pretty mellow and despite suffering with some migraines this week, I could still listen to the tune. The lyric I will go down with this ship has stuck with me too and is reminiscent on whether we should consider the sunk cost fallacy with our investments.
Someone wrote me this week about a crypto game that isn't doing so well and that they will go down with the ship and it reminded me of this tune and it then stuck in my head 😀. Do we sell out or go down with the ship? Which do you like to do the most? Salavage what you can or ride it til the end?
Dido - White Flag
The final tune is her most famous and well known tune. You perhaps have heard it in the Eminem tune Stan which is quite a graphic song sampling her original.
Which version do you like the most? Probably when I was younger I didn't mind the rapping, but getting older, it is hard to listen to rapping. I think any selection of Dido tunes needs to include Thank you as it is such a big hit and still is pleasant to listen to even after all these years. It ranks 3rd though in my favorite songs as the other two are more bending my ears these days.
Dido - Thank you
That wraps up my #ttt for this week. Do you have a favorite Dido song?
For those unfamiliar with TTT or Three Tune Tuesday.... to quote @ablaze :
The jist is as follows
Every Tuesday I'm going to share 3 songs which I like to listen to and I invite your feedback in the comments below. Better still, why not have a blast of your own Three Tune Tuesday and mention me in the post and I'll come and find the post and upvote it. If you could also use #threetunetuesday tag that would be great, as that is what I use when sifting through all the entries every Wednesday. It'll be a sweet way for us all to discover new music. You'll also be in with a chance of winning the prize.
Be sure to head over and give @ablaze some support as without his great work, we wouldn't have a #ttt.
