Hello,Music friends. I'm new to this community and what better way to introduce myself than by participating in this Tuesday dynamic, sharing the music I love with you all.
My first post consists of three musical proposals corresponding to the 90s decade when alternative rock and its more extravagant variant, Grunge, established themselves as highly consumed genres by the youth, becoming pillars of counterculture in a society dominated by various forms of pop. This selection is based on the uniqueness of the voices of the vocalists of each of these bands and also on their impact on the genre's development.

Blind Melon and their hit No Rain. Blind Melon, a representative alternative rock band from California with Shannon Hoon as the lead vocalist, one of the most special rock voices. Blind Melon, 1992, is the debut album of this band whose Southern style, with a stylization referring to the preceding rock, managed to survive during the heyday of Grunge. No Rain is a single that speaks of personal alienation, depression, and the importance of having someone to help us rise from sadness and move forward.

Alive by Pearl Jam, an autobiographical song by vocalist Eddie Vedder, who shows in his lyrics the effects of discovering his identity upon learning who his real father was. Pearl Jam was, along with Nirvana, one of the two most important grunge bands that stood out from their first album for a much more melodic elaboration reminiscent of Led Zeppelin or The Doors. Alive is one of the singles from the album Ten.

Alice in Chains with their Rooster. The darkest and most acidic band of Grunge due to their sonic explorations, more in the heavy metal - sludge metal realm, defining a very particular aesthetic by combining Grunge rawness with the expressive power of metal and careful vocal work. Essential ingredients of all their harmonic provocation. Perhaps Rooster is one of their most emblematic tracks where all the aforementioned elements are appreciated. It draws inspiration from the horrors suffered in war by a band member's father, creating a reflective and vivid atmosphere through sound in harmony with the vocal arrangement.
