I mentioned in a recent post that I've bought a converter, and capture card with the intention of playing/ potentially streaming some old PS2 and PS1 games that I haven't played in a long time.
Dynasty Warriors 4 OST - EVE
In anticipation of getting this new equipment, I've decided to look up some of the old DW 4 songs (my favourite game in the franchise) and the songs themselves are class.
They're mostly instrumental (if not completely instrumental if I remember correctly) but they all have driving metal/ hard rock-inspired sounds that perfectly match up with with the type of games that Dynasty Warriors are.
Dynasty Warriors 4 OST - The Verge of Despair
I haven't played Dynasty Warriors 4 in about 17 years, and I actually remember a few of these songs from how they were used in the game itself.
This one 'The Verge of Despair' I can almost hear the prompts appearing on the screen as my allied generals and commanders say that they're being overwhelmed by the enemy forces.
There are many different types of missions in the game, and sometimes you start with the advantage, however, sometimes you do start disadvantaged by the enemy, either due to being ambushed or by losing the advantage during one of the cutscenes by being betrayed by some of your allies.
Dynasty Warriors - Intro
Here's the intro to the game, and it pretty much sets you up for the tone of the game, and the tone of the soundtrack that you can expect to hear throughout.
I'm really looking forward to cracking out this classic game and having a go of it. However, I also bought Dynasty Warriors 5, which I never played, and I have to say, I'm looking forward to playing that one too and may even give that one a go before 4.
Some of the voice acting is kind of ham, but that always added to the charm of the games so much. Many people couldn't take the games seriously due to the voice acting, but to be honest, that's part of the fun of these old hack-and-slash titles.
