It looks like Silvertop isn’t the only one enjoying the nice weather today!☺️
So much to see, so many trails near the Gold Mine, I grabbed my backpack and started hiking up the Lautenbach trailhead, anxious to start exploring!
These are his cows, I think they are just as amused at hikers climbing the first hill, as hikers are of the cows Lol!😇

Today I stopped at the old Gold safe cemented into the bedrock of the hillside.
The forest had reclaimed the buildings that stood on this spot over one hundred years ago.
The trail leading to this spot is deep in the forest, many miles from the nearest road.
Silvertop looked behind him…………..
It appeared two people were approaching from behind at a quick pace!
I stepped to the side of the very narrow Trail to let them pass……………
I told Liz, that I think I just startled this young couple, they weren’t expecting to run into anyone deep in the forest!😳
The Husband had a backpack with a very young baby, and the Wife was following him up the trail.
It’s always good to be careful of strangers………………….
“ Liz they looked at me sideways, I think they were leery of Silvertop! “ 🙄
Both of them took a few steps back away from this bearded stranger…….😮
Silvertop quickly spoke up…………….
“ Very nice day to be hiking today guys!“🤗
“ Yes….yes, it is Silvertop! “ 😅
Then they continued hiking away………
“ Liz, I think I scared them, do you think I should have showed them PEPE that is sleeping in my backpack? “ 😇
“ Probably not a good thing Silvertop Lol! “ 🥰
