Have you noticed the weather being warmer than in years past? We had 2 nights of waking to ice on our truck windows which is not unusual for January or even February. . It is starting to warm up now, they say back in the 80s by the weekend.
It is a much warmer winter here, not sure how it stands in the records, but on average I suspect it is a new one.
