A Bittersweet End
With a heavy heart, I walked into our group last Thursday for the final time.
The familiar routine of singing the morning song, sharing fruit, and playing together felt both comforting and melancholic.
While I was sad to leave my children and colleagues, I was determined to make the most of our last day together.
Embracing the Outdoors
We choose to spend the morning outside rather than indoors.
Laptops were taken along for a change of environment; the sandbox was open; the sun was shining. Laughing and delight abound in this novel approach to spend our last day together.
A Sweet Farewell
As the morning turned into afternoon, we enjoyed a delicious apricot flan for the children and a small vanilla cream cake for my colleague and me.
It was a sweet way to celebrate our time together.
Unexpected Gifts
To my surprise, the parents and children had prepared thoughtful and heartfelt farewell gifts.
From flowers and drawings to sweet notes, chocolate, and bath products, the abundance of gifts was overwhelming and touching.
A Family Reunion
I visited my folks, who had lately returned from their holiday, after work.
Although I delighted to see them, I also felt relief knowing they were safe and sound.
Parking behind their house, their caravan stood as a reminder of their exploits and a symbol of upcoming travel.
Wishing you all the best in life and much health.
