My Actifit Report Card: September 7 2024: Though sick, yet, I attended it.

in Actifit9 days ago

The long awaited day finally has arrived and i was alive to witness it live and direct as it happened in Isiala-ngwa north local government area of abia state.

What is it and how did it go?

Lolz, its a joyous moment in our lives as one of our good friends waved goodbye to singleness leaving us behind. Despite that, we happily say goodbye to her as she now becomes a married woman(ASA ODOGWU).

Alright, let me tell you guys how it all went.

Today being Saturday, i woke up happily and hearty. I engaged myself with morning chores and other minor activities until 11:00am when i started dressing up for the ceremony as our vehicle is destined to move by 12:00 noon.

While dressing up, it happened like a magic and i started shivering. Ahh, whats it? Should i quit the movement? Or, is it a bad sign? All these and many more questions flashed into my mind. But, with faith in Almighty God, i didn't relent as i followed them to the occasion.

As i reach the venue or their house because its a traditional marriage ceremony, headache joined followed by high internal fever. After like 2 hours, it became unbearable and the fever also reach external.

I took paracetamol and the pill was able to calm the fever a bit after 2 hours. Before then, i wasn't able to capture all the scenes of the occasion but happily, I didn't miss the most important aspect lol 😂. Do you know the most important aspect of the occasion? Hahahaha, its item 7 which is entertainment or food.

Now, let me tell you some of the things that took place while i was suffering from fever.

At first, the master of ceremony (MC) ushered in the brides parents as well as the grooms parents too. Both of them danced according to any traditional music they chose.

Next, the bride's first outing in which she dressed up in a simple outfit to greet her guests and her husband's family and kinsmen. Yea, she did so by spraying sweet perfume on us as her visitors which signifies welcome.

Next, the groom also danced around with his men to greet his guests too.

Later or in few minutes, the bride came out with her second outfit along with all her ladies of honor and asoebis or fellow women and girls dressed in uniform to usher her in.

After dancing for a while with them, the MC gave her drink to search for her husband and to present him to both her family and visitors.

She started walking around with the drink hunting for her husband and many men and guys pleaded to her to give them the drink so as to present them to the public as her husband of which she refused. She kept on walking around until she found where her husband hid and she gave him the drink, and the man drank it and both of them came out and there was round of applause for the two.

Immediately, the man was asked to present his woman to his parents publicly so that all his visitors will be aware that his parents accepted the lady.

Next, the lady's turn.

She too presented her husband to her parents along with drinks and the parents asked her few questions like:

  • My daughter, are you sure this is your best choice among the sons of men? We are asking because you'll not come back here tomorrow telling us that you're tired of him.

  • Are you ready to accept the man's family as your own?

  • Should i drink? If i drink this wine, hope am not going to vomit it out tomorrow?

Then to the man, they asked...

  • Are you sure our daughter is the one you want to spend the rest of your life with on this earth?

  • Look at how beautiful our daughter is, hope you'll not maltreat our daughter?

  • Hope her beauty will keep on increasing instead of decreasing?

As both of them gave YES as their answer. The parents drank the wine which is a sign of approval.

Next, they hand over their daughter to the man's hand and then instructed their daughter to remain submissive to her husband and also asked the man to always love her down to the end of their lives.

Now, comes item 7 in which we have been waiting for. They dished out varieties of foods including garri(iba), jollof rice, white rice and stew.

As for me and my group, they served us jollof rice, soup and garri. Myself ate jollof rice.

My prayer is for her and her husband to always live peacefully and for God to grant them whatever could be their heart desire in Jesus name. Amen.

We left the environment back to Aba by 6:20pm and we reached our destination by 7:30pm. Meaning that we spent good 1 hour, 10 minutes on the road. What a long journey!!

As I was unable to walk around or do exercise, that's why my count is low. Sorry for that.

Thats all for today my dear friends of actifit community. See you guys again. Byeeee....
