Hey Actifitters,
Yesterday was a day off for Juneteenth and of course I got up extremely late. I'm pretty sure some people in Florida started their dinner before I was awake... We were still in the middle of that heat wave anyways. So the rest of the day went pretty much the same. We spent several short breaks in the yard with Le Chat and Kaia.
They were just chilling, conserving their energy I guess.
Until they both heard something.
Their reaction were total opposite. Le Chat was like 'Hell no, I'm out of here', while Kaia was like 'I got to check it out!'. In case you were wondering, it was just a deer right behind the fence. It fled too fast for a picture.
Since it was too hot for a walk with Kaia during the day, I tried to work on a few things in the yard and garage. For instance, I jumpstarted my motorcycle that's been sitting in the garage for at least 4 years. It doesn't hold the charge for now, the battery's probably really dead. But I need to find a way to get it to the mechanic for a full tune up. In the garage, I also found my old mountain bike, and realized it was a possible activity in the heat. So I filled up the tires, and just before the sunset I started a bike ride. Of course, I had to find a few good spots for the sunset.
The golf course is always my go-to for that.
But the next one near the high school track is also great. It's kind of far to walk there, but it's easy when biking.
On the way back, there's another spot that I like. Not for the sunset though. I just like the contrast between the nature on one side.
And the modern buildings across the highway on the other side.
After my bike ride, the plan was to go for a short walk with Kaia, but not even 10 minutes after I made it back home, a big thunder storm broke out.
So for once, Kaia didn't get her walk. She didn't seem too motivated anyways, just like everybody else she's struggling with the heat. Let's see how long this heat wave lasts. At least now I know I can go for a bike ride if I feel it's too hot for other activities.
As always, thanks for stopping by and see you tomorrow.
