Hey Actifitters,
Yesterday weather was again pretty nice, and not too hot. But as often, I wasn't the most efficient at work, and we started our long walk of the day later than I hoped.
We had a very strange encounter when we arrived in the forest. Kaia was already off-leash but just a couple meters in front of me. She saw it a fraction of second before me, a raccoon. She was instantly on it and I thought that'd be the end of the raccoon and Kaia might get some scratches in the process. But Kaia suddenly stopped, and just stood above it. I've seen dogs do that in fights, they just wait for the other dog to move, then they bite. But the raccoon just stayed there not moving at all, surprisingly. Of course, I was yelling like a maniac. And after what felt like a long time, probably a few seconds in reality, Kaia came back and the raccoon just went back to eating something I think. I'm pretty sure the fact it didn't move or try to flee saved its life! When we left the forest more than hour later, we passed by it again, and it was still there. Really not sure what it was doing, just eating something really good?
Anyways, we left the raccoon behind and proceeded to walk the trails as usual.
I think Kaia was still acting a bit weird after the raccoon episode, but she was probably just looking for other critters.
We had plenty of time before nightfall, so we went through most of the trails.
We missed most of the sunset though. The colors after were as usual beautiful.
We finished a second loop in the forest before walking back. Most of the trails are flood free now, but some areas are still very muddy.
More beautiful colors in the sky during the last stretch on the way back home.
Not super active these last few days, I have to change that soon. Probably not this week end though, because I'm feeling lazy and I am not so sure the weather will help. But soon!
As always, thanks for stopping by and see you tomorrow.
