Hey Actifitters,
The weather forecast for the last day of the year was pretty gloomy. And this time, getting higher in altitude would probably not matter. So in the morning, when we saw it wasn't raining, we quickly went for a walk with Sam of course. The idea was to go up the forest trail first, to directly arrive to the open fields.
We found several obstacles that weren't there last time I was visiting here, about a year ago. But Sam easily went through, sometimes above, sometimes below.
And right away the open fields.
We could barely see the hills.
It's very strange. Right now, it looks more like fall, especially some of the foliage. Such a mild winter so far.
Whatever the season, Sam will run!
We arrived back at home as the drizzle turned into heavy rain. Lucky for once! In the afternoon, when it finally slowed down, even if the clouds were still very menacing, we started another longer walk.
But the scenery wasn't the most interesting one. We did find a few crops fields that were starting to get very wet.
But to our surprise, it started to open up. First on the hills.
Then we saw a little bit of blue in the sky.
And finally, when we made it home, it looked as though we may even get a sunset!
So after a short break with some tea, we went for our third walk of the day. We just wanted to go to the same field as in the morning, because the view to the West is nice from up there. On the way, we met a friend and talked a bit longer than we should have because we missed the main part of the sunset. But as often, the residual colors were just as beautiful.
Some of the hills looked on fire.
We continued on the road to also find bright colors on the opposite side of the sun.
From there, we can even get the first views on the Alps.
It was surprisingly active for the last day of the year. However, in the evening, since both my mother and I still tested positive for Covid, we couldn't plan anything with friends and/or family, and it was a very unusually quiet new year's eve. Even for Sam!
To conclude, I'll say it again: happy new year and best wishes for 2024!
