The month of October has been a lot of physical labour!
After the church presentation, while in recovery, we were notified by the boss that we all need to move a 24 year old solid wood meeting table 2 floors up! 😳
The neighbour downstairs was moving out and their good condition meeting table didn't want to put to waste so they gave our office for free.
Good thing is that we could dismantle it, because it is so big that it could not be moved through a standard door, moreover old furnishings are always more sturdy than the new "buy, use, and throw in a few years" type
Our poor team were super exhausted in sweat after the move, after painstakingly moving 8 large pieces of compressed solid wood mix parts, were we reassemble the parts together (in picture 1) trying to figure out how it was done.
Good thing I peronally dismantled it so I could recall the pieces position
After the table, up with the chairs! On a hot afternoon it wasn't fun.
You can literally see the staffs were drenched with sweat with the look at their backs.
In the end we managed to get it looked like it was "teleported" 2 floors up without any scratches. 😅
The neighbour was so happy they gave us their new sofas without offering to sell to others also.
Good thing our boss was kind enough to agree to treat the staffs some boba tea and sweet snacks, but because we were so famished and gobbled up all the food so quickly we didn't remember to take pictures first. 🤣
Nevertheless I am grateful that we have a team who willing to get their hands dirty
Not having the "I didn't get paid for this" attitude.
In the end, the table will be of good use even though we lost a lot of space at the library area.
