_Wait... a mop? On a car... _
Yeah... you READ it RIGHT!
Yes your eyes 👀 did not deceive you.
If you have read one of my posts 7 months ago, you would have noticed that I Tried a High Tech Mop curtesy from the office where the mop was refused of its service due to the fact it was "too high tech" for the office cleaners 😅
But thanks be to God the Most High, my Aba Father, Who opened the door for me to try this at home.
7 months later as I still happily using at home, I started noticing that despite sending my car for a proper washingin November, that kind of slaughtered my wallet... the stains are still very stubborn, no thanks to polluted rain where I still have no idea where it comes from, especially during the New Year weekend, there was barely any cars, yet there was some open burning smell.
The one bad thing of having a white car is that you just can't get away from dirt....and those so-called professional washing with there "nano wax coating" isn't helping much either .
My residence used to allow a designated area for self car wash; however due to recent landslide that affected the side slap and local municipal have barred from extensive water that flows out to the side of the building from car wash, until the fixed slab is stable; but due to recent long rainfall, the stability of the slab takes time.
So with the exact same method, I prepped a Litre of hot water in for flask and 1.5 Litre of filtered water to mix the first batch of soapy car wash liquid made of a cap of the car's windshield detergent, and gave the mopping a try.
The good thing about having this mop is its structure. Flat enough to press on the surface well and the mop's texture is really good for dirt absorption.
Just cleaning the 1st round windscreen itself is already seeing how much dirt that even the wiper can't get it out 😱
Though with limited lighting (because outside was already getting dark), when you watch closely, you can see the before (at the right side) and after (at the left side) mopped through!
Please note that I didn't put too hot water to it, just enough warm water for ease of pushing out the dirt
Another good thing is that because the length of the mom, I could actually reach the whole top of the car easily without a stool; and that is already a plus.
_it is quite tiring to press on the mop in the pail's contraption but it is necessary to get all the oil and dirt out
Why?
Because this is what I got after the first round! 😱
This is the closer look on how EFFECTIVE this mop is! Yikes!
I actually did the second round without the soap and as diligently as possible, I mop though the whole cat and paid more attention to the parts that I missed.
I thought it would have been a lot better already but unfortunately it only probably just improved by 5%... ugh the dirt!
After all is done I used this old kept "cleaning wax" that I bought years ago, and I am happy that it is still working as I didn't use it too often (I bought 2 and this was the last bottle). I don't think this is sold anywhere now as I was trying to look around for it at car was and accessories department.
Microfiber clothes at this stage is very important. To make the whole wax coat evenly distributed this is crucial. Good thing this "cleaning wax" doesn't require heat nor a lot of muscle work to make it shine.
By the time I am done, I am satisfied enough to see its shine.
Post washing
Even the car is considered squeaky clean, the nightmare hasn't concluded.
I had to use bleach and a lot of soap powder and really hot water just to push the dirt and wax out of these cloths.
It took 6 hours soaking and many rounds of water to get it decently cleaned out.
(The wax smell lingers)
So what do you think?
If water is scarce, including the wallet's stash, would you "potentially destroy" your car's surface (in case it scratches, which thank God it didn't!) with this high tech mop?
For me, there isn't a bit of regret because instead of giving outside service to wash my car that didn't even survive from stains through 3 days with their "nano coating", might as well fully unitise what I have first.
Yes those detergent have been kept in the storage area
I hope that this discovery will help someone that might face the same challenge (of water and financial scarcity) to keep the very tool that is needed running alive and "dinified" with cleanliness 😅
