TGIF everybody! Today was a crazy 🤪 one for me!
I got to work early as usual and had a quiet morning until we opened. My first patient of the day was in for a contact lens exam. My fill in doc saw her and afterwards, asked me to order trails. He said she could then call us after picking up the trials if things felt good to her or schedule a follow up if not. If okay, then the prescription would be finalized. Upon paying, she asked for her prescription for both glasses and contacts. I explained she couldn’t have the ones for contacts as it wasn’t final, hence the reason for the trials. She was a new patient to us with no history. I had to explain that 3-4 times and all the time I was, she was eyeing me like I’d grown a horn in the middle of my forehead! She wanted the doc’s optometric license number and wanted to know why his name was different from the doctor that owns the business. She had originally been told when she made the appointment that he was filling in. She finally left with the glasses prescription and the doc’s info, my name and work schedule. I kind of feel like she’s thinking she has a complaint to maybe file? I don’t know, but nothing done was incorrect. What she wanted was incorrect. People! 🙄
It was the day for a lot of glasses jobs as I had several patients walk in with prescriptions in hand to order glasses on top of an already booked day! I was a busy gal! 😅
