I love cycling just before sunset, the dimming light gives a new perspective on everything. Shadows jump out as the light fades. I fitted my lights on the way back as I needed to use some roads in town.
Starting off passing the Ifield Mill Pond, I headed for Buchan Park, where I cycled a loop around the lake before cutting off towards Tilgate Park via some footpaths and roads.
I only passed through the park today as my destination for today's ride was part of a dismantled railway, which is now a bridleway proving an off road route to East Grinstead.
At my turnaround point shown by my main picture. A favourite place of mine to stop, reflect for a moment and head back.
I chose a shorter route back, more direct but more town roads to get me home faster as it was getting quite cold.
Before I reached the end of the Worth Way I took a picture of the last few yards. This track is a really good level track, an easy ride on a very good hard surface. Being an old railway route it is well drained and never gets boggy or flooded.
