This evening was very pleasant in the sunshine. It was a little chilly, but that's to be expected at this time of year. I was well prepared for the temperature in my windproof and high visibility jacket.
As you can see by my pictures, the sun was very low towards the end of my ride, so I fitted the lights before I left in case I needed them. This route is a favourite in winter as the off-road tracks are quite firm and well drained as well.
Part of this route was once a steam train route. I can just remember as a boy passing the level crossings in our family car. Nowadays, the route is a public bridleway, and open to walkers, cyclists and horses. Covering the eight miles between Crawley and East Grinstead.
