The wide open spaces on the apron at Gatwick Airport. Shortly before our flight rendezvous with a Norse Atlantic dreamliner. Due to sickness, we were short staffed today. So I stayed airside while the drivers went back to base to reload with the next flight catering.
That's good because it gave me an opportunity to go up into the departure lounge and grab a coffee while I waited for the next truckload. ☕️
Eventually, our flight arrived, slightly late. Coming in from Jamaica, the crew said it was a nightmare getting the flight away delayed again.
As you can see in the picture above, we now have to wait for the cargo to be unloaded before we can approach the rear door! It is difficult to see, but a water bowser is blocking our path to the front door (far right of picture) so we cannot access either way. To cater this aircraft involves loading from both doors. It all seems to flow quite well most of the time 😁.
At last some sunshine too! 🌞 it's going to be much drier for a while now but colder. ❄️
