Life’s been throwing curveballs this week. Between the chaos of work, getting the kids ready to head back to school, and my daughter’s health issues resurfacing, time has been slipping through my fingers. She’s dealing with a back injury that decided to come back stronger than we’d hoped, and it’s probably going to take her out for the rest of the school year. To say it’s tough would be an understatement.
Amidst all this, I’ve been doing my best to show up for my wife—she’s a rockstar, handling most of the load at home while I’m juggling work and, well… everything else. And yet, today I found a window of time, just big enough to lace up my shoes and head out. 7k steps later, I feel a little lighter.
There’s something about these walks, though. It’s like each step is a reset button—especially when I’m met with views like this. Nature has a way of making the chaos feel a bit smaller, and it’s nice to remember that the world doesn’t stop, even when my life feels like it’s spinning out of control.
Here’s to small moments of peace, finding beauty in the busy, and being grateful for whatever breathers I can get. And as always, a big shoutout to my wife for being the hero she is, even when the world is all over the place.
