Today's pictures are from the long grass just along the road from my house. The first one is, I believe, is Hedge Woundwort (Stachys sylvatica)
and the second is the humble but still beautiful Bulbous Buttercup (Ranunculus bulbosus). Again, my identifications are from using google Lens and my wildflowers book, so they should be taken with a large grain of salt.
As for today's activities, not a lot apart from work.
The main road that I drive my bus along when I'm picking the kids up and dropping them home from school has been closed for resurfacing. These roadworks start today and are scheduled to last for 4 weeks and are going to cause a lot of stress.
My diversion this morning only added about 1 mile to my route, but that mile is through a very busy area of Bistol (Brislington if you know the area) and added almost 20 minutes to my journey.
20 minutes might not sound a lot, but it's enough to make the kids on the bus very stressed - especially those that had a Maths GCSE this morning.
I managed to get to school only 5 minutes late, which was still 25 minutes before the exam was due to start.
Thank you for reading, and I'll be back tomorrow.
