RE: My Actifit Report Card: June 29 2024

Whew! Glad to know that LeChat is okay. It's scary when furbabies go missing even for a few. I've lost a couple of kitties and it's sad. Are raccoons considered pests there? Who gets to clean up the remains? Great job on your step count. Happy new month ahead!

Thanks!
Yeah, that was a bit scary. I know Le Chat usually does her own thing, but she still stops by several times a day, at least to ask for food. This time she was gone almost a full 24 hours. Easy to start imagining things with these two suspicious dead raccoons. Luckily all good now! I'm sorry you lost kitties, it is indeed very sad.
Not sure if they're really considered pests. It's in my yard, so I am responsible. But I found them after a couple days, with the efficiency of the maggots, half of one was gone, and just a little bit of the other was left... And I couldn't really do anything with all these maggots. Today, it's pretty much just some bones, and some fur. Disgusting... For now, I'll let nature finish the work. I did have to mow the lawn around it. If I had found them sooner, I could have called animal control. They can try and check the reason for the deaths. Last year, they found at least 2 cases of rabies in dead raccoons in the area. Oh no... It got me curious and I just checked symptoms of rabies in raccoons, this looks exactly like that one from a few days ago in the yard that was acting almost drunk. I may have to call animal control anyways. Both Kaia and Le Chat are vaccinated but still I'm a bit worried again now and I'm thinking I might need the shots too... I guess I found something to check tomorrow!
Have a good week and awesome new month!
