One of my hobbies is finding free online tools for all sorts of things. I have huge list of bookmarks with all kind of free web2 tools for design, gaming, editing and what not. Mostly useful stuff and some just for fun.
Many of those bookmarks are there because I found something really cool online and wanted to check it out later and see how can I use it in my everyday work and play. Sadly, the list was longer day by day and off course I didn't have time to check all those goodies like I should. So I've decided to stop that behavior of hoarding links and actually go through them and explore.
In order to make it more fun, I'll post about them here on Hive, as reference and off course someone may find those tools useful also.
Free online doodles generator
Let's start with open doodles. Made by Fang-Pen Lin and Pablo Stanley open doodles generator is open source tool which allows you to download but also edit doodles.
There are 32 illustrations if I counted right. You have the option to download the images in PNG and SVG formats and use them however you want. According to the authors:
Open Doodles is a set of free illustrations that embraces the idea of Open Design. You can copy, edit, remix, share, or redraw these images for any purpose without restriction under copyright or database law (CC0 license.)
Sounds good to me.
For editing doodles there are 2 options. One is to select the theme. This options changes all illustrations in the same time.
Another options is Create which allows you to pick individual colors (hex values or using color panel) for different layers.
Generator is very simple to use and modify the illustrations and there is also suitable button to download entire pack after editing.
Very useful find specially for designers and off course bloggers like you and me can use it as part of the posts graphics.
So there you go.
Use it, don't abuse it.
