The Roman Circus

Back in the day when I lived in Germany, I asked Germans left and right if they felt wealthier during the Deutsche Mark era than they do now under the EURO. The unanimous answer? YES.

People were happier with the purchasing power of their money before the EURO came along. Now, we’re inching closer to a CBDC-type digital euro. Crypto outlets reporting on this call it “safe, user-friendly, and compliant.” Honestly, I find that hilarious.

Compliant to whom? To the same bastards who locked us down during the so-called pandemic? The ones who handed Pfizer contracts shrouded in more secrecy than a metro tunnel? Or those funneling billions into Ukraine for a war that’s unwinnable?

The past four years have convinced me of one thing: we can’t trust those we’re supposed to be compliant with. They’re never compliant with their own promises, the ones they sell to us every four years during elections. But the masses? Too asleep to notice.

It’s the same story as always. Back in Roman times, kings threw circuses to pacify their people and avoid uprisings. Today, we’ve got modern-day circuses that keep the masses numbed, almost toddler-like in their distraction.

We call them sports. Add gambling, porn, and mindless YouTube crap to the mix, and what do you get? A society that doesn’t aspire to improve itself, just one that becomes more compliant with whatever garbage is thrown its way. Football players making tens of millions a year? It’s no coincidence.

They’re paid that much to keep us entertained, to keep us from revolting. Simple as that. But no one seems to notice, and no one seems to care. “We’re fine,” they say.

Bitcoin was supposed to be our way out, a life jacket for this sinking ship. But when giants like BlackRock hoard half a million coins in a year, the dream starts to crumble. Bitcoin’s initial decentralized purpose? Slowly dying.

CBDCs are coming, and hardly anyone’s batting an eye. Meanwhile, football, cheap beer, porn, and video games are keeping everyone too comfortable to care.

It feels like we’ve lost our voice in this world. Elected and unelected clowns keep passing Orwellian policies, and all we do is nod along: “Yes, sir.”

Well, screw that. I’m not playing along. I’ll be an outlaw until the bitter end.

Thanks for your attention,
Adrian

Sort:

Not only wealthier with the Deutsche Mark, but more sovereign too!

While the masses remain ignorant and placated, there is a growing minority of people who are fed up with the lies, recognize that the system is unsustainable, and are working on alternatives.

I think the movement will grow in size as the financial system becomes increasingly restrictive, and eventually it will be unstoppable.

I hope your words come true.
