In November-December 2022, I visited the family in Venezuela after 10 years of absence. On that occasion, I visited the family in Cordero, Táchira State. To celebrate our visit (my son Matthew and I), a wood-fired hervido criollo is just the thing. Preparations started very early in the morning.
The beef had already been slaughtered, so the boiling water for the meat and vegetables was not long to wait, and the stoked fire began its work.
A couple of hours later, all at the table and sharing as a family. Those days flew by... I don't know when I'll be back.
