Greetings!
After a very long time, it rained yesterday. I remember the last time we had rain was in early October last year, 2024, and ever since then, it has been hot and harsh weather, especially with the harmattan. Although the harmattan did not last for a long time, the remaining days, aside from the harmattan period, were so hot and uncomfortable, particularly during sleeping time, except for those who have constant electricity to power their fans and air conditioners.
It feels so good to experience calm weather today. I hope the rain continues to fall and that we never return to the days of drought.
I feel like joining the #ttt for the week, and below are my collections:
Soundtrack by Mr. May D
Play the video above and feel the beat. I think the beat producer properly understood what the song is all about, especially with regard to the title Soundtrack, before creating the beat. The beat of the song is a significant selling point. It is an old song but brings a special feeling whenever it is played.
Akanchawa by Qing Madi
This is one of the trending songs currently, although the songwriter is not yet widely known. I bet some of us who are into our kind of music would listen to this song, dance to it, and still struggle to recall who sang it until some research is done.
Qing Madi—the "Qing" is pronounced as "King," as she corrected her fans—did an excellent job with this song. The title was taken from one of the ancient gospel songs in Nigeria. Ordinarily, seeing the title, a Nigerian would assume it is a gospel song, but it is not; it is entirely a love and party song.
Bundle by Burna Boy
When this song came out last month, it caught my attention because it came from the perfect artist.
Why do I say so?
The song is all about flaunting money, and Burna Boy did not just display cash in the video for show; he has the money—he is very rich. His status significantly influenced the song. I wonder what would have become of the song if a low or average music artist had been the one to release it.
The song is a complete party anthem—the type that makes someone spend all their money in a club while dancing, drinking, and spraying cash.
Thanks for reading.
