Greetings!
I haven't been active on social media lately, so I've been missing out on vital news. One of the things that keeps me abreast of happenings is my radio. I'm always connected, listening to programs and, importantly, music.
Yesterday, being the 11th of May 2024, I was on the radio and the songs they kept playing were the ancient Bob Marley songs. Honestly, I'm not a fan of reggae songs; there's only one song of his which I like, and that's "No Woman, No Cry". So, I wanted to turn off the radio when the sweet, melancholic ancient song, 'No Woman, No Cry' came on, and I was wowed. I started singing along, shaking my head to the melody rhythms.
I'm a very 'unserious' person when it comes to certain things, which makes me see this song on a literal basis, meaning not having a woman means no crying. Thinking deeply on this, I would say the title literally is very correct because I've been there. I've been beaten and battered by women a few times I tried to get tagged along with relationships. I'm sure I'm not the only guy that have suffered in the hands of ladies. Lol😂
This song was released in the late '90s, and I kept wondering how love life and relationships were back then that made him come up with such a song. I know it can't be measured with what we have today; it has grown worse, and going into any relationship now means a guy needs to be ready to face it. It's only by luck (or maybe by persistence too) that will make the man not get to the point of feeling the 'choking' of the relationship and wanting to cry if the man is soft to such an extent.
The last one that happened to me, I had to stop loving and decide to push my heart into becoming a rock because it's too soft. Soft-hearted people love to the core, giving out 100% love, and it doesn't always favor.
It's not like I cry whenever I'm heartbroken by a lady; no, the pain can be so unbearable, and at that time, the only way to let the heart stay happy, void of trouble, is staying off women.
But in all these, our existence is made in such a way that we males need females to survive. No wonder they're called 'necessary evil'

Maybe I should dedicate this song to all women (mothers and potential mothers) out there in the seasons of Mother's Day celebration. No matter how hard they make us cry, they're still good in their ways.
"No Woman, No Cry" has many versions springing up from the Original, and the one I love most on all the covers is the one done as the soundtrack to the WAKANDA FOREVER movie, done by Tems, a Nigeria singer. It's so cool, and the song brought so much light to the movie.
Thanks for reading.
