Excellent stories - you should write more first person ones !

HFY is a huge genre on Reddit/YouTube, but you're right, I reckon a lot of them have been written by AI and are narrated by AI voices. Probably the best human reader is Netnarrator.

But if you want to go down a real internet rabbithole, look up Stabby the Space Roomba. There's so much been added by Reddit users that it's hard to find the original story, but most of it is absolutely hilarious.

Sort:

What does HFY stand for? I assumed it was created with AI, just based on how similar all of these stories read, and it always poses Humans as the biggest threat in the galaxy, or the most alien thing in the galaxy.

It's not bad by any stretch, but I've just noticed these similarities. But, if it's a trope of this particular style or genre it makes sense then that all of these authors write the same way.

I've never heard of that, but I'm going to look it up now and see if I can find. Based on the title I think I'll like it.

Also, thanks, I'd like to try and replicate the same first person style of those others stories for future posts. I think they have a little bit more weight to them when they're told from someones perspective.

HFY is an abbreviation for "Humans, F**k Yeah !" - it's one of several related genres, including "Humans Are Space Orcs" and "Space Australia" which all developed immensely in Tumblr and Reddit long before AI's came along to try to imitate the genius ideas and memes they spawned, and which built up layer over layer.

Here's one of my faves....
