Greetings Fine Felines and Hoomans of Hivelandia and surrounding communities!
I hope this Thursday finds you well and happy.
Here at our place, the ongoing quest to add a new cat (or two cats) to the household continues to go around in circles.
In the latest iteration, it now looks like we might end up getting a "rescue cat" after all, but a rescue cat of a different type.
I like to poke around in the Dad-Hooman's craft area!
We have had a lot of forest fires around here — because it has been extremely dry — and the forest fires have put some populated areas at risk and there have been evacuations.
Whereas it might be hard for some to believe, some Hoomans evidently head for safety... without taking their Feline friends along. Shame on you!
Anyway, there are a number of Hoomans who are kindly fostering cats that are having to be rehomed because their people either abandoned them, or can no longer take care of them in their new surroundings.
So the Mom-Hooman has been keeping track of things with a couple of rescue services... keeping an eye on particularly the possibility of getting two what you might call "large kittens" (four to six months old) that are already used to being together but need a new forever home.
Still excited about the possibility of getting another cat friend or two to come into the household, because everything around here has definitely been very quiet and low energy ever since Daisy the dog passed away.
With Daisy the dog, last year. She was my friend.
We'll see how it all works out.
The Mom-Hooman did find a couple of young foster kitties in need of a home, but it turned out that someone had already expressed interest, so now we're in the "backup position" if that falls through.
These are definitely exciting times of change!
Meanwhile, the Mom-Hooman has gone off to housesit for the Daughter-Hooman in Seattle and will not be back till Monday... so the Dad-Hooman and I are having a quiet weekend!
It has been raining (also good, to help put out those forest fires) so he has been working inside with his office stuff... which means he's spending time with ME!
Yes, I really like to just "lay around!" We cats need lots of sleep!
Anyway, that's the latest update from our corner of the world... we appreciate you stopping by for a visit, and hope to see you again for Caturday!

Love Cats? Get Involved in Hive's Cat Communities!
If you're a cat lover and often/sometimes post pictures or other content that includes your feline friends, why not become an active part of Hive's growing Cat Communities?
These are some of the more active Cat Communities — why not join them ALL? Many of the allow you to share your cat posts, even if you started at a different community!
HiveCats by @curatorcat is a central "gathering place" for cat content on Hive; promoting the use of the #hivecats tag for feline content!
Cat Snaps by @manorvillemike is a place to post pictures of your cats when you don't have a whole lot to say beyond just sharing your cute photos!
Caturday by @saboin is a community where we get to celebrate posts relating to Saturday — aka "Caturday" — our own special day!
Cat Photos by @andrarchy is a "mixed use" cat content community; posts can be just photos or longer, as long as the subject is CATS!
Cats by @captainklaus (and Sissi!) is another "general" cat content community.
There are a number of other feline communities listed on Hive, but I am not sharing them for now as they have not had any activity (by their Admins OR users) since the Steem/Hive fork. Updates as they become available!
