Greetings, Fabulous Felines and Hoomans of Hivelandia and surrounding communities!
Shangri and Lala — who is becoming "Nala," instead, at her insistence — have now been with us for a week.
Pretty kittens in a chair!
In that time, they have gotten much more comfortable with being in the company of Hoomans, and comfortable with the idea of me being "Uncle Shadow" to them. We have had several visits, and all have been very peaceful... and even a little playful!
Triple decker cats!
Today, the Mom-Hooman introduced something new into their lives: Kitty TV!
That is, she brought her laptop into their dedicated space and set it up with one of those "nature channels" where you have birds and squirrels feeding, on a more or less endless loop.
What IS this strange magic?
Of course, they have never seen a computer or laptop before — and they certainly don't know that they are the latest stars in the kittyverse of Curator Cat! — so it was all very exciting!
I know there are birds here...
Shangri was the first to inspect this new phenomenon... and sometimes he'd head off to the window, trying to associate the video with outside the window.
Look, it's a chipmunk! How did it get in there?
It wasn't long before Nala decided to join the investigation. There had to be some sort of answer, somewhere...
Investigating
This went on for a good 10-15 minutes, with Shangri repeatedly checking the window.
Nala was more intent on just looking at the screen...
I don't get it...
Shangri had another go at figuring out where that chipmunk was coming from.
The chipmunk was consistently more popular than the birds...
It's looking right AT me!!!
Eventually, the novelty wore off and the kittens were treated to music for the rest of the afternoon.
Seemed like it was quite relaxing for them... which bodes well, because the Hoomans always have music playing in their offices.

All in all, the integration process is going pretty well... we all feel like the two youngsters will become a really good fit for our little world!
