Hi friends,
It's been many months since I last wrote in the #beer community and today I do it to propose you a very tasty 0,0 roasted beer that is Estrella Galicia 0,0 roasted accompanying other typical products of Galicia and that I drank a few weeks ago in one of the four cities of Galicia that is Lugo.
Lugo and its history
Lugo is a small city in Galicia that has its foundation as a city in Roman times (Lucus Augusti) and this is something that can be seen within its historic center with some statues of Roman emperors and some sculptures that emulate chariots.
But if one thing differentiates Lugo from any city of Roman origin is that it still preserves a great Roman wall of more than 2Km perimeter that encloses the historic center of the city.
Some of the entrances to this historic center are pleasantly picturesque, such as the entrance that leads to the square of the Cathedral of Lugo.
Once inside the historic center one can quickly find a multitude of entertainment venues to enjoy a delicious beer where the great protagonist is the local beer Estrella Galicia.
Estrella Galicia 0,0 toasted
After this introduction from the city of Lugo I present to you the beer 0,0 tostadas Estrella Galicia, which is one of my favorite 0,0 beers because of its pleasant taste, unlike other 0,0 beers that usually taste like dirty water.
As you can see its color is dark amber with orange highlights. Its aroma is characterized by being complex and balanced, where you can perceive toasted notes coming from the malt, with subtle aromas of caramel.
It is a very versatile beer that pairs well with a wide variety of foods. In my case, as it could not be otherwise, I accompanied my beer with an octopus a feria, a typical Galician dish based on cooked octopus accompanied by salt, paprika and olive oil.
It is a beer brewed with water from the city of A Coruña,and mixes 6 types of malt with different degrees of roasting with hops Nugget, Perle and Sladek hops.
It is one of the best-selling 0.0 beers in Spain and has won several international prizes such as the International Beer Challenge, which recognizes the quality and flavor of its beers, as well as its dedication to innovation and excellence in brewing.
It is an exceptional beer, despite not having alcohol and can even be a good accompaniment to another of the typical Galician products such as the tarta de Santiago, a cake made from almonds.
Eager to return to Galicia soon and continue discovering beers from this great brewery that is Estrella Galicia.
Best regards.
This is #BeerSaturday week and I would like to invite @millyzev to write a post in any language about beer with at least 3 pictures.
