Welcome to the weekend, and welcome to another edition of the Caturday update; the way to share cat photos on Saturday; something that has been a web tradition for almost 20 years!

Hello! Happy Caturday!

We're having a quiet weekend around here as pretty all we can do is sit by the window and watch a quiet summer rain fall. According to the Dad-Hooman it's actually kind of unusual for this time of the year — it has been raining steadily for three days and that almost never happens in August.

We have had almost two inches of rain in the last four days, which compares to the normal rainfall for August being about half an inch for the entire month!

Good grooming is very important! Cat with style!

I don't much get into the numbers and those things — that's the Dad-Hooman's domain, but I do understand that it explains why there have been no sunny spots for my naps for most of this past week.

The Dad-Hooman is a bit sad because "there's no sun in the garden" he says, and it's not good for the tomatoes. I don't care much because I don't like tomatoes, but I empathize with his predicament.

Dinnertime is my favorite!

The Mom-Hooman is out of town, house sitting for the Daughter-Hooman in Seattle while she and her husband have gone on a trip to Canada for her birthday.

The reason she is over there looking after the house is really that she needs to be there to look after the Daughter-Hooman's two little dogs. I'm not sure how I feel about the Mom-Hooman betraying me with dogs but I suppose I will get over it!

Smudge loves dinnertime, too!

Earlier today I found myself contemplating the fact that I actually felt really happy that our Hive token had risen back up past $0.20 when I last checked. How our expectations change!

Not that long ago, we would have sat around here wringing our paws and thought of it as being a total disaster if I were to actually drop below $0.20.

Crypto Thoughts

It's one of the things about the whole Cryptosphere that worries me: sometimes we get a sense of what we think is going to happen, and without really being consciously aware of it, we keep ratcheting down our expectations while we're actually sinking into a hole there's no coming back from.

Somebody wise I met a long time ago once pointed out that when something loses 50% of its value, it has to increase in value by 100% just to get back to where it was in the beginning. Think about that, for a moment!

I do wish that rain would stop!

Meanwhile, our Smudge is doing well and with the house being a bit colder than it has been in a long time I'm sure she's very happy to have her thick fur coat!

Now we just need to have this rainfall take a break — we have had more than plenty to make everything outside green and I'm tired of the gray weather, and so is the Dad-Hooman!
