Fiesta de cumpleaños + lettering (ESP-ENG)

A comienzos de enero me contactaron para dar una mini clase de lettering en un cumpleaños y me pareció una fantástica idea. La cumpleañera ya había asistido antes a mis talleres y le apasiona mucho el lettering, así que quería que fuera parte de su cumpleaños. Preparé una clase especial de hora y media donde la cumpleañera y sus amigas pudieran disfrutar un rato agradable dibujando sus letras y aprendiendo.

El cumpleaños se celebró en un restaurante llamado “Lucrecia” en un centro comercial de mi ciudad. No conocía el local, así que admito que quedé alucinada con él. Tiene una decoración muy elegante y refinada que contrasta con la vista hacia la marina. De verdad, que es un local muy bonito.

En el cumpleaños también hubo otra actividad, un bar de glitter, donde había una chica que las maquillaba con glitter y brillantes. Me pareció una idea muy divertida y se veía que lo estaban disfrutando.

Ahora, para la mini clase participaron 17 niñas. El tema fue brush lettering, que es el tipo de lettering donde se dibujan letras cursivas. Iniciamos practicando unos trazos básicos para que fueran soltando la mano, luego practicamos un abecedario cursivo que les ayudara con la actividad principal: dibujarían la letra inicial de su nombre en grande y con ayuda de un washi tape escribirían su nombre completo.

Ellas estaban encantadas con la actividad y pusieron toda su creatividad a trabajar para decorar sus nombres. Fue una clase divertida, llena de risas y ocurrencias de las participantes y creo que sobre todo fue un cumpleaños feliz.

At the beginning of January I was contacted to give a mini lettering class at a birthday party and I thought it was a fantastic idea. The birthday girl had attended my workshops before and was very passionate about lettering, so I wanted it to be part of her birthday. I prepared a special hour and a half class where the birthday girl and her friends could enjoy a nice time drawing their letters and learning.

The birthday was held at a restaurant called "Lucrecia" in a shopping mall in my city. I didn't know the place, so I admit that I was amazed with it. It has a very elegant and refined decoration that contrasts with the view towards the marina. Really, it is a very nice place.

At the birthday party there was also another activity, a glitter bar, where there was a girl who made them up with glitter and sparkles. I thought it was a very fun idea and I could tell they were enjoying it.

Now, for the mini class, 17 girls participated. The theme was brush lettering, which is the type of lettering where cursive letters are drawn. We started by practicing some basic strokes so that they could loosen their hands, then we practiced a cursive alphabet to help them with the main activity: they would draw the initial letter of their name in large letters and with the help of a washi tape they would write their full name.

They were delighted with the activity and put all their creativity to work to decorate their names. It was a fun class, full of laughter and witticisms from the participants and I think that above all it was a happy birthday.
