Throwback In Colours And B&W - Final Days At School

in Throwback Thursday2 months ago

Over three years now and I still go back to these pictures, feeling grateful and excited for moments that have long past. Looking at the pictures, I remember my years in school, the struggles, the fun and most importantly, the result (including lessons learnt) from the experience. They say, you never truly know what the other person is going through, unless you've been in their shoes before.

I respect students a lot, those who have decided to try their best, survive the hurdles and graduate with good grades. That is because I've been there and I'm grateful for the strength sources I found to get through all of that and now, tell the story.

One of my strength source was my favourite friend during school. It's amazing I still remember clearly how we both first met and I've been friends since then. These pictures is a great improvement from the pictures we took around the time we first met.

It's our graduating pictures, we had just finished our final exam paper which we believe we did so well on even before the results were out. My friend, Nancy always come to mind for one thing she does so easily... Encouraging me to encourage herself. When I don't feel like studying or feeling defeated about a difficult exam, she was so positive and somehow, we ace the exam more than we expected.

These pictures mark our hard work, a proof that we stayed together from our first year in school till our graduating year (more than 3 years). We didn't just do well in our course of studies, we learnt more about life, safety and gratitude. I can still remember a time we both were a victim of armed robbery, we survived but my friend lost some valuables.

That didn't give any setback but instead, we got better and became intentional of how we move around doing well in school. I've learnt so much from Nancy and I hope she did learn from me but I don't have to feel down if she didn't, do I? Lol.

As final days at school came to end, a few days to leaving school for what life has in store for graduates, Nancy suggested we take ourselves out, explore our school one more time and take pictures while at it. I bought the idea immediately and I'm so glad I did, I got to keep some pictures of my school environment as exciting souvenirs to look back to.

I remember how crazily we were dancing at a spot the art students used to practice dance moves for school programs. Thinking back now, I can't stop laughing. I wish I could show a video she took of me dancing so badly 😅 maybe I should take some time out to learn how to dance.

We took lots of pictures, chatted for hours how our years in school have been and possible plans for our future as graduates. Right now, we're both serving at different states but once in a while, we talk at length on phone and video calls. Soon, we would plan a meet up and I'm excited about it even though there is no fixed date yet. It's been more than a year since we last met, yeah, we met on my birthday last year.

Time indeed, flies! And for that, I am grateful for the things I've achieved, friends I've known and keep, the life I am living and for the things I am yet to achieve. Looking forward to building more bonds with people who would add positively to my life and I'll do same to them, these pictures are a proof of one.

Images are all mine

Your photos show us a vital stage in our lives; I think that the school years mark us for life both for better and for worse, but one thing we can be sure of, is that we know very cool people and as you say these photos are proof of that.

We should always do our best to surround ourselves with positive, enthusiastic, motivating people who are aligned with what we are looking for in life, so that the path is easier to assimilate.

I am very glad that you keep such a beautiful friendship, it reminds me of my best friend with whom I have a friendship of more than 20 years already. I send you a warm hug and may the next stages you live be the best in the company of people who nourish your spirit and make you laugh a lot 🙌😀💛... it was great to read you 🌹💖... You Absolutely Rockkk!!! 👍😎🔥📸❤️

Oh yeah, there were the worse times but not so much and so I'm grateful for the people that are around me.

20 years of friendship, that's so long. I wonder if I'll have one too 😅
Thanks so much for stopping by friend, you rock too! 😊

Okay okay. I just realized I've been living the most boring life any Nigerian student can live. Even my friends in school don't have anything to do with going out. Our lives just revolves round attending lectures and coming back. I can count with one palm the pictures I have of myself in this school and I'll still have fingers left. That's badd!😂

🤣🤣🤣
Very bad, how long do you have until graduation? I think you should make good use of it, what do you say?

I'm in my third year. I have just a year left😭. I'll definitely make good use of this one year that's left. If I don't have fun in my university days, when will I experience the fun in university again?😂
Thanks for writing about this. This has really inspired me.

I'm really glad it did, have fun and graduate with the best cgpa... Win-win 🥳

Aww having friends like this are the best. I hope you guys meet again soon ❤️.

So you can't even relate to what is called classes again😁😁. Abeg let we the undergraduates breath ooo. Congratulations my friend. It feels so good to sign out and be free from school stress..

My dear, I can still relate o 🤣
They posted me to serve in a school, I wish it wasn't the case for me 😅

Lol..why be say na most of Una dey always enter school settings for service. I have some friends to that were posted there to teach and they were just complaining. You can just decline instead, so you can enjoy your service.

Lol decline and enjoy service how? 😂

You will just tell them you are not interested. They should allow you rest and enjoy your service in peace

Lol that is easier said than done my dear

Lol... I know right. You just have to manage for the little time you have there.

Yeah sure, I'm almost done anyways 😊

School memories will always be great. I really liked your TBT friend ✌️.

Glad you do, thanks 😊

Awesome memory 👏

Thanks
