Java is indeed quite consistent and logical, and definitely also a good language to start learning.
I would say any language that is strict is VERY good for learning, as it helps you code correctly.
The later/looser languages are easier to learn, because you don’t need to take care of typecasting and all, but by doing that it allows for many more mistakes, which will not necessarily crash your app, but will have an impact on speed and possibly security.

That's really great to know! Yes, I understand what you mean about More-strict languages being good ones with which to begin learning. They lay in good coding habits! Perhaps I should start learning Java again then! What language(a) and developmental framework do you use for the bots? I want to make myself more useful, so that I can contribute more to the heavy lifting! 😁🙏💚✨🤙

!INDEED and good coding habits go a long way!
The bots are written in Python, with use of the Beem & Hiveengine libraries (along with some more regular ones). Contributing is always nice of course! So get out that Python Editor! :-D

That's very true, and even though I'm not a coder yet, I still recognize clean and sloppy code when I see it! I want solid good habits in this regard! OK, that's what I was figuring. I've already mostly set up Beem and Hiveengine on at least two of my Arch Linux installs. I want to be able to contribute in this way, too! Since Python is a higher-level language, perhaps focus on Java (for the good habits that it sets), and Python to make myself more immediately useful in our projects? 😁 🙏 💚 ✨ 🤙

Thank you muchly, I'm sure that I shall! I tried CodeBlocks yesterday, which I've used before, but it was having errors and wouldn't start, so I'm in the process of looking for another IDE with which to learn. Presently I'm reading about Eclipse, but I haven't installed it yet. 😁 🙏 💚 ✨ 🤙

Pretty sure you will enjoy it !INDEED :-)
I've never used CodeBlocks to be honest... I did use Eclipse for a long (and happy) time, but it became too heavy to run, too slow to boot and to work with. Then I switched to Jetbrains IDE's, mostly PHPStorm. They are good, really good. And I had the paying pro version, which was totally good! But then came the issue of working with more languages, and not always being in a strictly developer role anymore, or being forced to work with the customer's preferred IDE.
That's when I switched to CodeAnywhere. That's an online cloud development IDE that supports many different languages, and has a ton of useful features for me (adding SSH access to your own server etcetera). It allows me access to my own stuff, everywhere I want, as long as I have a browserwindow...
They even used to have a mobile app, but that got discontinued :-) Unfortunately, because for the quick bugfix it could still come in pretty handy! But I think their webapp is now also very mobile-friendly.
