When it comes to Education, I believe it to be a whole wide range of different areas, it can be carried out by different persons and anywhere. The simple act of learning something new from another who have the knowledge beforehand is, Education. Children learn from their parents, teachers in school settings, peers and elderly ones in their environments... All those are part of the education for a child.
It is more than studying books, as some seem to think being educated means having studied a course or gone through the four walls of school or university. Well, I'm of the view that it is more than that level but efforts made to these regards are low.
I don't know about other countries but here in my country, education in the school setting is slowly becoming a thing of joke or something not important. I remember back in those years during college, we were always told that "Education is the key to success" and "We are the leaders of tomorrow" but somehow, we are not actually taught practically how to make these sayings come to reality in our lives.
How can a school be without active labs for practical teachings? Students are made to do whatever they want to, no discipline to keep them focus on what they can become if they would be serious with their studies. Studying isn't the only way to make it educationally, other aspects of life lessons is included. The least schools could do is make sure people are provided with the right infrastructures to study their books.
Parents at home also have their roles to play for Education to move forward in the life of their children. They own the right to make sure the children are being impacted positively by the schools they attend, the kind to peers they keep and how they act at home. Parents who keep their children in check are doing a great job but sadly, not many are involved in doing this.
Education should be taken more seriously than it is now, where I work as a teacher for the year seem to be at the worst level but I can't blame them, the issue has started a long time ago. Before the Government, the parents have a role to play and then, the children should be made to understand the importance education in every aspect holds for their success in life.
The future of Education judging from how it is presently in my country is, uncertain and kinda scary. I fear that people would rather choose to learn only ways to make money and move on having no interest in being grounded in other knowledge.
There are many keys to success and education is one of them, this should be instilled into our children alongside a better Education system provided for them. This is my view in Education as a topic, there's more but I'll stop here. What do you think?
