This is not the first time I writing about this topic and I always talk about my experience with it as it has affected in both positive and negative ways with the latter being more. Procrastination is a thief of time and a lot of people have had their share of it in different ways.

This thief has taught many to be better users of their time and has also render many lazy and useless of their time. I've been in both scenarios to say, there are Ds in procrastination and one must be careful not to fall deep into it as it is hard to come out of it.

When there is so much to do and too much time to do it, procrastination sets in!

Denial in Procrastination - Since there's so much time to get something done, people who procrastinates begin to deny the fact that they could actually miss not getting anything done or doing it before deadline. Denying is their way of not agreeing that they are procrastinating what needs to be done at a particular time.

When there is too much time left to get something done and one denies, deviation comes in.

Deviate In Procrastination - Since people feel there is still time to do something, they deviate from what should be done and do things that aren't as necessary as the ones they have to do. This deviation may end up being the reason for them not getting things done at all because of the distraction it may come with.

When things don't get done at the time they should, delay has happened!

Delay In Procrastination - I can't even start counting the number of times I've delayed what I shouldn't have and it cost me more. Sometimes, it's best to just get things done even if you feel there is enough time to do them. Procrastination go hand in hand with delay, we do not want delay in our life's activities.

Personally, I've become more of an early riser after experiencing procrastination in too many ways and learnt my lessons. The use of alarm clock and other tracking apps has helped me deal with this procrastination disease. I try my best to do things once the clock reminds me too just to make sure I don't forget or try to delay anything.

Being an early riser, I've achieved more than I usually do before and it's been more helpful in how I think, act or plan for my future and many other things I engage with. What better way to work for the day than starting early and retiring early too.

I've actually learnt about this from my mum and dad in many instances but it took me time to get it into my system and act accordingly. Since I've been able to achieve it, it's been about maintaining this standard of living... Everyday, dealing with procrastination and making good use of my time.

This is my entry to the May Inleo Prompt Challenge with the focus on "Procrastination, Planning, 5am club". Don't know what to write on Hive today? You're invited to participate.
