Greetings friends of the community. For me it is a real pleasure to be participating again in one of the initiatives of the Gaming Photography community. Taking advantage of the fact that the theme of the Weekly Contest is Cave Exploration, today I bring you a tour of a cave that, as the title says, is located just below my base. Currently, we are on the island "Gran Iguana" which is my lair. I call it a lair to call it something, since it is the place where I go when I try to take refuge and, although it is not secret for some reason, neither the Spanish nor the English dare to attack me here.
The cave I will be exploring connects the jungle with the basement of the main house and, although it is not the first time I visit it, I must say that the previous time everything was on the run and I can see almost nothing. Our tour starts from the entrance of the jungle, which is well hidden and if it wasn't for Kidd I would have never found it for sure.
Once inside the cave, the first thing I noticed is that it is not completely dark, and that is because there are small openings in the ceiling that allow light and water to enter. Thanks to this interaction with the outside, I was able to find a variety of plants inside the cave. Also, at every step I could see the reflections of light on the stone, which gives a beautiful touch to the view.
Further on, I was able to find the first traces of human interaction. These boat riggings indicate that several people have already passed through here, which is logical considering that this is the secret entrance to the house.
As I went a little further, I came upon what appeared to be the basement of the house. The first thing that caught my attention were some chests stacked to the left, which I had already opened. Undoubtedly, the most striking thing is a section of this cavern, which is formed by a throne and a bunch of chests stacked on some rocks, which receive a constant illumination from the outside. In my opinion, this is a typical representation of a pirate treasure; the only bad thing is that they are there as decoration.
After admiring the treasury for a while, I decide to continue my journey and from here the road splits in two. One route leads to the house and the other seems to descend even further. Bearing in mind that I had already taken the route to the house before, I decide to walk the rest of the cave.
This section of the cave was like a huge staircase that descended little by little and, if my calculations did not fail me, if I came from the jungle and had reached the house, it was logical that if I continued in a straight line I would reach the sea. The problem was that there was a possibility that I would not reach the beach, but an underwater cave.
Luckily I was not wrong about my geographical position and, after walking a bit, I could see how the sea water enters inside the cave, which meant that the cave had an entrance right next to the beach.
As I exited the cave I could see that the cave not only ended at the beach, but that it was much closer to my boat than I had imagined. It turns out that this entrance is located in a corner of some cliffs that are in front of the main house.
