Caminando las calles de Bogotá.
Hello!! This photos have been in my Drive for months. waiting for me to have the time to talk about them. These are murals I saw on a day walking around Fotibon, a place on the west of Bogotá. I decided to get to know the place I was staying at so I went on a walk with no destination, just with my phone, taking photos.
¡¡Hola!! Estas fotos han estado en mi Drive durante meses. esperando que tenga tiempo para hablar de ellas. Estos son murales que vi en un día caminando por Fotibón, un lugar al occidente de Bogotá. Decidí conocer el lugar donde me hospedaba así que salí a caminar sin destino, solo con mi teléfono, tomando fotos.
These photos were taken on August 20th, 2023. I took my walks around 4 - 6 pm, and I went with just my t-shirt and pants, while I saw a lot of locals wearing sweaters ans scarfs haha. I loved the cold, where I live is hot so I wanted to enjoy it as much as possible.
Estas fotos fueron tomadas el 20 de agosto de 2023. Salí a caminar alrededor de las 4 - 6 pm, y fui solo con camiseta y pantalones, mientras veía a muchos lugareños con suéteres y bufandas jaja. Me encantaba el frío, donde vivo hace calor así que quería disfrutarlo lo más posible.
A few things caught my attention. One, how well done they were all made. I found a lot of beautiful murals, and even some that could be considered vandalism were actually good on the eye, so it all passed as "art" and not some sort of visual contamination.
Even in the most destroyed places. The walls were a touch that even made feel safe, when if removed, the street would have looked like a dangerous place to be.
I talked with some locals and they were a bit amazed that I dared to go on that kind of walks alone so maybe the place was in fact not as safe? but I felt the vibe and I never felt in danger, the people around me was very nice.
Algunas cosas me llamaron la atención. Uno, qué bien hechos estaban todos. Encontré muchos murales hermosos, e incluso algunos que podrían considerarse vandalismo eran realmente agradables a la vista, por lo que todo pasó como "arte" y no como algún tipo de contaminación visual.
Incluso en los lugares más destruidos. Las paredes eran un toque que incluso hacía sentir segura, cuando si se hubieran quitado, la calle habría parecido un lugar peligroso.
Hablé con algunos lugareños y se sorprendieron un poco de que me atreviera a hacer ese tipo de caminatas solo, así que tal vez el lugar no era tan seguro. pero sentí la vibra y nunca me sentí en peligro, la gente que me rodeaba era muy amable.
I know nothing about the artists, however, I asked around and some people told me most of the murals were organized, they even had contests to get the right to paint specific walls. On a taxi a driver told us the city instead of fighting the vandalism, embraced the street art, so this way they can allow the art while giving character to the city, the artist are content and they can keep under control the ones that do damage private property, or at least that is the idea. It is true the city looks amazing this way.
No sé nada de los artistas, sin embargo, pregunté por ahí y algunas personas me dijeron que la mayoría de los murales estaban organizados, incluso tenían concursos para obtener el derecho de pintar paredes específicas. En un taxi un conductor nos habló de la ciudad en lugar de luchar contra el vandalismo, abrazó el arte callejero, así pueden permitir el arte mientras le dan carácter a la ciudad, los artistas están contentos y pueden mantener bajo control a los que hacen daño. propiedad privada, o al menos esa es la idea. Es cierto que la ciudad luce increíble de esta manera.
The murals can be found in the walls of schools as well, and a lot of them carry a cultural meaning, showing things that characterize the Colombian culture, may it be historial or more social. What I noticed is that they do not look like they work too hard on showing history to the point of writing dates and messages on all of them, they let them talk.
Los murales también se pueden encontrar en las paredes de las escuelas, y muchos de ellos tienen un significado cultural, mostrando cosas que caracterizan la cultura colombiana, ya sea histórica o más social. Lo que noté es que no parece que se esfuercen demasiado en mostrar la historia hasta el punto de escribir fechas y mensajes en todos ellos, los dejan hablar.
Other times they are not that deep, just nice drawings, lie this one of Kimetsu no Yaiba. As an otaku myself, I was all freaky when I saw this one, and another one I didn't photograph of Naruto.
Otras veces no son tan profundos, solo dibujos bonitos, como este de Kimetsu no Yaiba. Como otaku, andaba frikeando cuando vi este, y otro que no fotografié de Naruto.
The photo bellow is not from the West but from the Center of the city, in front of The Corner Twelve, that area is magical, I want to live there, I'll be walking the streets every single day. The cat, awesome, you can not miss it.
La foto de abajo no es del Oeste sino del Centro de la ciudad, frente a The Corner Twelve, esa zona es mágica, quiero vivir allí, estaría caminando por las calles todos los días. El gato, espectacular, no de lo pueden perder.
And the last one is on a alley on Sibaté. No matter where you go, you can find amazing street art, of business promoting their stores with art instead of boring signs. For an artist, the place to be, and for a non artist, a great place to release stress.
Y el último está en un callejón de Sibaté. No importa a dónde vayas, puedes encontrar arte callejero increíble y empresas que promocionan sus tiendas con arte en lugar de carteles aburridos. Para un artista, el lugar donde estar, y para un no artista, un gran lugar para liberar estrés.
