BATTLE MAGE SECRETS: PRIORITIZE HITTING FIRST DURING AIM TRUE RULESET

Hello Hivians and Hivers,

First I would like to say Merry Christmas to all friends out there who celebrate the Xmas. For those who don't, I hope you have a wonderful end year holidays.

As usual, I would like to welcome you all to my weekly Splinterlands Battle Mage Secret challenge. This week we are having AIM TRUE Ruleset as our theme.

AIM TRUE is a simple ruleset, it gives true aim ability to all the units in the battlefield. In other words, none of the attack could miss, and this includes for magic attack too... Phase ability is useless.

Because all hits will land, that means the one who hit first will kill first. So Speed plays a very great part in this ruleset. During this AIM TRUE, I am prioritizing building a line up full of fast units... of course they must build up a good meta too.

Let's check our battle then...

THE BATTLE

This was a Gold League battle of Wild Format. I was using @Blackkrrsantan, a Scholarship account for Juice Guild from bulldog1205 our famous streamer.

This rulesets were simple, however these were a bit tricky. So here were my points of building my line up

  1. First Broken Arrow, so I should not think too much about range units... they were gone here.
  2. Weak Magic. I needed a big armor tank and an unit who had protect ability. Somehow choosing Kelya Frendul and Diemonshark as my tank became something that very interesting
  3. I needed speed... so atleast I had someone who control speed, either swiftness or slow... The Legendary Baldie seemed a good deal here.

Kinjo needed 2 mana, and its a 23 manacap battle... A high risk decision on taking him in.. I hoped it would not backfire me...

So this was how the battle went:

  • The battle started with both of us buffing up our team and debuffing our opponents. They had Creeping Ooze, damn!! If I had that one, I would pick other attacking unit to replace Kinjo.
  • My opponent had 3 melee damage, and 7 magic damage. It's a 10 damage per round with extra blast damage from Ruler of The Sea.
  • My team had 9 melee damage per round.
  • Overall my opponent focused on attacking and my team was more like a defensive line up.

  • My Pelacor bandit killed their Ooze in the first round, and their Lord Arianthus was too tough to be put down in a single round... that's why round 2 started with 5 vs 6 with advantage on my side.
  • Pelacor Bandit again killed their Sabre Baby Shark.. now thing looked ugly on their side.

  • Round 3 started with 4 vs 6 condition, My Pelacor Bandit this time could not able to kill their Ruler of the Sea... However my Tide Bitter finally killed that sturdy Lord Arianthus

  • Round 4 started with 3 vs 6, however my Diemonshark seemed ready to trample all... He killed that bird Albatros and the Ruler of The Sea.

  • Round 5 was the last round. Good Game.

CLOSURE AND DISCUSSION

I could not say my opponent was wrong, but the most correct one that his meta was not suitable against my team. Ok lets see what points we can take from this battle.

1 SPEED IS PREFERRED

Both team tried to get speed adjustment, both of us using a unit with slow ability. However my pelacor bandit killed their Ooze and this was actually their major blow from begining.

2. FAILURE IN EXPLOITING WEAK MAGIC

The biggest driving force that made the battle very onesided on my win was the failure in exploiting weak magic ruleset. Their team came without armor, did not think too much about armor.

Meanwhile my team was exploiting everything we got to get the upperhand from Weak Magic Ruleset.

  1. We used Kelya Frendul who gave +1 armor to everyone in her team. This was almost similar to protect ability.
  2. We used DiemonShark... no need to debate, this shark was one of the OP during this ruleset because of huge armors and health points.
  3. Merdaali guardian with her repair ability. My armors would never run out.

What did they do to exploit Weak Magic? none

3 Countered Meta

Basically they did not have any healer or support, that meant they needed to win everything with their attacks, and their attacks were countered by my meta.

  1. They Bombed front wall with 3 + 4 magic damage. I was using Diemonshark and I had tank heal and repair from Merdaali Guardian. Repair fix armor, and healing 10 health point Diemonshark was giving 3 fresh health. Literally they only did 1 damage per round.
  2. Ruler of The Sea had blast damage, however I had two units with reflection shield behind my main tank. It would not work!!

I felt bad with them, somehow their meta just plainly wrong. They even had silence ability from Ruler Of The Sea, however I had no mage so that debuff gave nothing.

Things would be more equal if their Dr Blight could give affliction and poison from the first attack, however it did not happen... so they ended up lose badly.
