The blue pot

in Succulent growerslast month

DSC_0579 copy.jpg

I am a tiny bit (as if) late with this post. I had photos taken a few months ago when the blooms were all open and looking beautiful. Today not even stems are left, and the plant is growing away.
But things happen, laptop breaks, and then a general lack of will hits, and this gets postponed to the right time.
Now is the right time!

Echeveria runyonni 'Topsy Turvy'

I am also sure I have shown this one blooming a few times already, but this time I decided to reuse my larger clay pots to make a community pot with this one to be the queen in it. My previous community pots had a mix of colours and types. Here I decided to keep the blue plants, but in different sizes and leaf shapes. And I am loving it! :)

The leaves, flowers, stems... everything has a very thin layer of the protective white dust. That's what makes it blue or grey. When that dust is washed off, the plant is more green and looks.

The remaining two plants are alike, and this was the reason I decided to keep the three together.

There are two of those in the pot and each grew a few stems. For the first time, I had so many flowers at the same time! It looked pretty amazing, even though the flowers are not showstoppers. It is still a pretty cool thing to see and means the plant is doing ok.

Lovely, fiery petals!

But enough flowers (though I could take more photos... it is quite a photogenic one).

Echeveria runyonni 'Topsy Turvy' 1.jpg

It is one of the oldest echeverias I have. It looks so short here because I tend to renew it when it gets out of control or the bottom/roots rot. It's a matter of cutting the head off and planting it in fresh soil. It is not a fussy one at all! And so easy to propagate from a leaf cutting.

Then we have Grapto-something... I can never remember which is which. I like the plant a lot and I added a few cuttings to the mix. I have another pot just with this plant, and I am waiting for it to bloom.

And last but not least, one little rosette of Echeveria Cubic Frost. It is the small leaves with pointy tips in the middle 👇. It is more purple than the remaining two, but it matches the mix.

I struggle with this one a bit. I have 4 of them in different pots, and none of them seem to grow very well. It also has flippen leaves like the Runyonni, but it will never be as big as the cousin (this one can grow pretty big!). The leaves have such nice shape that I would really like it to like it here :p
I will not give up. I will figure out eventually what she wants.

And that's the pot.
I would love to see all three types blooming at the same time eventually.

This is a pretty plant, and the closeup photos of those flowers are stunning! 💗

Thank you! I am glad it is so easy to grow too:)

why was this post muted?!

I actually don't know :p

weird

Maybe it is accidentally set in the community as default for all posts or something as I noticed it happened the same with my post about the traveller plants, and just a few minutes later it was already ok, but in the first instance it was also muted

Oh maybe it is. I didn't notice it with your post.
I will wait then :)

It might be a glitch. All new posts to this community are are being automatically muted, and the Admin is trying to determine what's happening. (I saw the question about it on Discord.) 😕

Thank you! I thought it was some setting maybe and was trying to find out if its even possible. Weird thing indeed... Now I am curious how it is happening in this one and not other communities for example.

I checked it yesterday and forgot to reply, sorry. I hope it gets solved soon. Strange thing indeed.
Thank you for the info :)

I muted one post about 3 weeks ago and since then, everything is muted

Thank you! I like both and I cant wait for spring to see my cacti blooming. But I like the different shapes and how easy it is to grow some Echeverias.

Si desde sus hojas, es lo mejor que tienen ella su reproducción 😊👏

These blooms are so pretty! I probably have seen the echeverias in shops but never with such a beautiful bloom.

Not too long ago I got some plants for my desk and during summer we had them on our balcony. The foxtail and the aloe vera did and are doing really well. There was another one and, of course, I don't know its name, that, unfortunately, died when we moved it back inside when it was getting too cold. But that just means that I might get a new one and I'll look for another succulent. Any recommendations for 'not too much light'?

Usually they sell them without as they dont last too long. The plant is mostly grown for the leaves.

Ohhh though one as succulents generally like light. If they dont get too much they tend to stretch looking for it.
But I have Haworthia cooperi and Pachyphytum Oviferum and they hate direct sun. I still keep them outside on the balcony, but I have to protect them from the sun.

Thanks @steemflow :)

I love the color this plant has taken on, the gray color makes it look beautiful, the flowers are very striking and colorful
Beautiful shots dear friend @ewkaw
Have a happy and prosperous week

Thank you!

I will figure out eventually what she wants.

Talk to her. Lol.

I'm having trouble detecting the blue... my god I can't see it.

Haha and the neighbours will be sure that I completely lost it :D

I'm having trouble detecting the blue... my god I can't see it.

Yea I know.. its more grey. Though for some reason this type/colour on echeverias is called blue.

Prelepo! 🙂 Crna pozadina je dominantna, zar ne, @ewkaw? Da li nekada eksperimentišete sa drugačijim okruženjem?
Sve najbolje!

You mean different background? If I can I shoot with dark so the photos are "cleaner". I like them like this :) And that's how I shoot home plants. Outside it is harder to get the dark behind like this.
