How can watching movies be a sin? This video which we are listening to is a movie. Is that a sin also? Surely, it is not!
Movies are medium where information and messages are communicated. We are blessed by the explanations which Bro Eli Soriano has been offering to so many questions that brother our faith through the videos shared on Old Path. So, watching movies cannot be a sin.
1 John 2:15-17 (KJV) Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.
And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.
Everything that is available to us in this world is to be used with caution. We must be cautious in the way we consume content from all the available technological platforms. The world is corrupt. Many of those who share morally damning contents on social platforms do so because it offers them more financial rewards.
Why are they gaining more from that? It is because a corrupt world which we are living in celebrates evil more than good. We should remember the words of Jesus. Those who see the narrow path are very few. But a whole lot of multitudes follow the broad way that leads to destruction.
As christians, we must have self discipline. We must not love the things that are in the world. We should run away from watching movies that corrupt our minds.
