It is possible that someone whom God might have called and destined to heaven, that if he is not careful, he might be a cast away. Apostle Paul was destined by God to be an apostle and a light to the gentiles.
Isaiah 49:6 (KJV) And he said, It is a light thing that thou shouldest be my servant to raise up the tribes of Jacob, and to restore the preserved of Israel: I will also give thee for a light to the Gentiles, that thou mayest be my salvation unto the end of the earth.
According to the prophecy of the Bible, Paul had been chosen by God to be a light to the gentiles.
Acts 13:46-47 (KJV) Then Paul and Barnabas waxed bold, and said, It was necessary that the word of God should first have been spoken to you: but seeing ye put it from you, and judge yourselves unworthy of everlasting life, lo, we turn to the Gentiles.
For so hath the Lord commanded us, saying, I have set thee to be a light of the Gentiles, that thou shouldest be for salvation unto the ends of the earth.
1 Corinthians 9:27 (KJV) But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.
Paul the apostle said that he keeps under his body. That is, he puts his body under control so that he will not be a cast away. Anyone who wants to get to heaven must learn to subdue his body and bring it under control. Even a person who was destined to be in heaven can become a castaway if such a person does not keep his body under. We must subdue our bodies. We must reject the works of the flesh.
